Artist Workshop

21st ANNUAL ARTISTS WORKSHOP & RENDEZVOUS
Sunday September 18 – Friday September 23, 2022

The SKB Workshop & Rendezvous is where talented artists come to refine their amazing skills, to retreat from the world for a few days, to recharge their creative batteries, to meet with old friends and to welcome new ones to an ever-growing family of artists. It includes over 60 hours of training and we’re honored that the very talented and versatile Aaron Blaise and Julie Jeppsen are joining us this year as our featured artists. This is a great opportunity to work in person with these two talented artists, as well as your favorite returning art instructors. The fee for the Dubois workshop is $800 for artists and $600 for non-painting guests (including catered meals at Headwaters).

For those unable to attend in Dubois, we are offering 25 hours of live Zoom sessions taught by many of your favorite returning artists and marketing instructors. Please note that the Zoom fee does not include instruction by our 2 featured artists. For those participating via Zoom, the fee is $100.

More about the Workshop

Why do people return year after year? In many cases, artists work alone. Having a network of support and an opportunity to talk “art” for a full week, sparks creativity. This, in addition to the training provided, makes a huge difference in the life of an artist.

Historically, this is a gathering of working artists that continually aspire to greatness. Participants and instructors share and inspire each other. It is known for having the best fine art and marketing instructors anywhere. This year, just as in the past, there will be instruction in a variety of traditional media—oil, acrylics, watercolor, charcoal, sketching, sculpture, and more.

Small Works Exhibition & Sale

Artists attending may display up to two small works each. Awards will be given for the various categories.

Plein Air Painting

Daily excursions with our instructors to some of the most beautiful areas of Dubois WY.

SKB Dubois Mentor Program

Prior to the official opening of the SKB Workshop & Rendezvous, a group of our instructors will work at the local school with the students to create art and music which they will share with our workshop attendees. For these young wannabe artists, this is a life-changing experience. Many of our young charges have gone on to win statewide awards!

And with all this happening, on-site instruction continues, as well as additional training from instructors teaching remotely. This enables us to engage and provide an even greater variety of training for participants—a true wealth!

Quick Draw

Featured Instructors, as well as our Returning Guest Instructors on-site at Headwaters, will create works for SKB’s workshop auction night. This is a favorite event for everyone present to attend.
